Super Quick Kimchi & Tofu Simmer in the Microwave. Kimchi comes in almost as many forms as there are vegetables because nearly any vegetable can be fermented. They range from super mild smell to mega funky and mellow to melt-your-face-off spicy and there is one for every possible point in between. The kimchi recipe that I'm sharing today is my family's favourite version.
Kimchi is actually Korea's national dish. I've actually been making a quick kimchi for years that's alot like your recipe, in fact I am soaking a Napa cabbage right now for kimchi. I could never wait for fermentation. You can cook Super Quick Kimchi & Tofu Simmer in the Microwave using 6 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you achieve that.

SUPER EASY KIMCHI STEW (KIMCHI JJIGAE) Robust flavour, quick and easy to make! Recipe courtesy of the Americas Test Kitchen Do it Yourself cookbook. If you don't want to mess with making the paste, this gets you a super quick kimchi — though its got less depth of flavor, too.
Super Quick Kimchi & Tofu Simmer in the Microwave step by step
- Place the tofu on a heat-resistant dish (preferably a deep dish) and cut into 6 pieces. Of course you don't need to cut it at all..
- Top with kimchi..
- Cut the pork into easy to eat pieces and place on top of the kimchi..
- Lightly cover with plastic wrap and microwave at 500 W for 3 minutes. Since the meat doesn't cook completely through very easily, turn the meat over after about 2 minutes..
- Once the pork has cooked through, pour in the sesame oil, soy sauce, and optionally garnish with green onion to finish..
I don't see why you couldn't add additional vegetables to the mix. Anchovy stock, green onion, hot pepper flakes, hot pepper paste, kimchi, kimchi brine, pork belly, pork shoulder, salt, sesame oil, sugar, tofu, water. Cucumber: kirby or persian cucumber are the best options, but English cucumber also works.; Carrot: carrot adds texture and sweetness to the dish and makes it more fun to eat.; Onion: to add more pungency to the dish. Hey, it's kimchi, it should be very stinky! Chives: milder than onions and a little sweet, they marry beautifully with the other vegetables.
